It’s still May, and that means that it’s still Mental Health Month! Last week I told you about NAMI and their theme for Mental Health Month 2018. This week I want to tell you about another organization, Mental Health America. This is the organization that started with Mental Health month back in 1949, and has worked since then to improve awareness of mental health and mental health related issues.
MHA is focusing on the fact that Mental Health is just as important as physical health and the two go hand in hand to create overall wellness.
The Fitness #4Mind4Body campaign is meant to educate and inform individuals about how eating healthy foods, gut health, managing stress, exercising, and getting enough sleep can go a long way in making you healthy all around.
Leading a healthy lifestyle can prevent mental health conditions like depression and anxiety, or it can lessen their symptoms.
Mental health is essential to everyone’s overall health and well-being, and mental illnesses are common and
treatable. So much of what we do physically impacts us mentally –it’s important to pay attention to both your
physical health and your mental health, which can help you achieve overall wellness and set you on a path to
MHA wants everyone to know that mental illnesses are real, and recovery is always the goal. Living a
healthy lifestyle may not be easy, but by looking at your overall health every day – both physically and mentally –
